The Split Between Roman Catholicism (Mystery Babylon) and BIBLICAL CHRISTIANITY

Here's a diagram by Jeremiah Knight of the Reformation Resurgence. Mystery Babylon claims to be the one true Church, dressed in purple and scarlet, carrying a golden cup in her head (symbols used in the Old Testament priesthood). However, she is a counterfeiter claiming to be in the one true Church. Can Roman Catholics explain how in the world can there be true Church now be leading the ecumenical movement? The big split is because it's not biblical Christianity. Rome tries to twist the verses of the Old Testament, but do they understand it? Spiritual things are undiscernible by them! Now, time ot give this lesson by Knight himself:

This is not the history of the Church. This is the corruption of it.

What this timeline reveals is not Christianity’s evolution—but its hijacking. After centuries of Roman persecution against Christians, something changed—not in conviction, but in strategy. The persecutor put on robes, walked into the Church, and sat on its throne.

When Constantine legalized Christianity in the fourth century, Rome didn’t convert. It co-opted the faith to consolidate its power. Temples became cathedrals. Pagan festivals were repurposed. Idols were renamed as saints. The imperial seat of Caesar was relocated to the bishop of Rome, and a once-persecuted faith became the new face of the empire.

The Roman Empire disguised itself into the Roman Church.

This was not the church submitting to Christ—it was the empire disguising itself in Christian terms to preserve its grip over the people.

From there, error after error followed:

590 AD: Gregory I becomes the first real pope, consolidating political and spiritual power—though no apostle ever claimed such a title.

754: The pope claims temporal authority, blending spiritual leadership with imperial control.

1215: The dogma of transubstantiation is declared—a teaching unknown to the early Church and directly contrary to the clear meaning of Christ’s once-for-all sacrifice (Hebrews 10:10–14).

1545: The Council of Trent officially rejects justification by faith alone, anathematizing the gospel itself and exalting human effort as a co-agent in salvation.

1870: Papal infallibility is declared—effectively placing the words of one man on par with, or above, the Word of God.

This system was not built on apostolic teaching but on power, tradition, fear, and control. It silenced dissent with inquisitions. It sold salvation through indulgences. It denied the cup to laypeople. It locked the Scriptures away in Latin and burned those who dared to translate them. This is not the church described in Acts. This is a hybrid of pagan Rome and institutional religion—what Revelation calls Babylon.

“They exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator.” —Romans 1:25

“You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.” —Mark 7:8

“Woe to you... for you shut the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces.” —Matthew 23:13

“Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins.” —Revelation 18:4

The Reformation wasn’t division. It was a return—a recovery of the gospel Rome buried. It wasn’t about starting a new church. It was about coming back to the old one—the one built on the apostles and prophets, with Christ Himself as the cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20).

So when Rome says, “We are the true church,” we must ask: Which Christ do you preach? Which gospel do you uphold? And which authority do you stand on?

Because no matter how ornate the cathedral, if Christ is not the head, it is not His Church.

Soli Deo Gloria.

Sola Scriptura. Sola Fide. Solus Christus. Sola Gratia.

Let him who has ears to hear, hear.

This was done in response to Katuroang Katoliko, which by the way, is a Catholic fake defender Facebook page. My stance is to debate only with official Catholic apologists like Aleteia and Catholic Answers. This makes me laugh because the mind of Katuroang Katoliko (literally, Catholic Teachings) might still be stuck in the Dark Ages. Come on, where was the administrator of that page when the Second Vatican Council was formed? Did the administrator somehow figure out a way to time travel? Okay, I'm joking, but whoever the administrator/s of the page's mind may still be stuck in the Dark Ages!

Even more, the greater crack is the crack of ecumenism. The First Vatican Council claimed exclusivity. Now, the Second Vatican Council claims ecumenism. I wonder if Catholic fake defenders are truly updated with world events or are they choosing to ignore it? Since when did the one true Church even have dialogues with other religions? Even the current Papal Antichrist, is committed to interreligious dialogue, as part of the policy of the Second Vatical Council. It's no different than the ecumenism done under the other Papal Antichrists such as John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and the most recently deceased Francis!

"As bishop of Rome," Leo told them, "I consider one of my priorities to be that of seeking the reestablishment of full and visible communion among all those who profess the same faith in God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit."

Full Christian unity must be based on unity in faith, he said, noting how his election took place in the year that Christians are celebrating the 1,700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, which "represents a milestone in the formulation of the Creed shared by all churches and ecclesial communities."

The late Pope Francis had been planning to travel to Iznik, Turkey, site of the ancient city of Nicaea, to commemorate the anniversary with Patriarch Bartholomew. A Vatican official said planning is underway for Leo to make the trip.

"Unity has always been a constant concern of mine," the new pope told his guests, pointing to the motto he chose when he became a bishop in 2014: "'In Illo uno unum,' an expression of St. Augustine of Hippo that reminds us how we, too, although we are many, 'in the One — that is Christ — we are one.'"

Leo told the Christian leaders that "the more faithful and obedient we are" to Jesus, "the more united we are among ourselves. We Christians, then, are all called to pray and work together to reach this goal, step by step, which is and remains the work of the Holy Spirit."

"Aware, moreover, that synodality and ecumenism are closely linked, I would like to assure you of my intention to continue Pope Francis' commitment to promoting the synodal nature of the Catholic Church and developing new and concrete forms for an ever stronger synodality in ecumenical relations," he said.

Francis and many ecumenical leaders focused on how synodality — literally "walking together," listening to one another and valuing the gifts and talents of all — could help Christians see how much they have in common and how they must work together to bring the Gospel to the world.

Leo also praised Francis' emphasis on how, since everyone is a child of God, they are brothers and sisters to each other.

The reformers didn't want to be reformers--they just wanted to be biblical. The term Protestant was an insult given to those who protested against Rome. The Baptistts were called Baptists by the enemy, not by themselves! The disciples were first called Christians in Antioich, not as a compliment, but as an insult. However, Peter, whom Rome lies about as being the first Pope, called it an honor to suffer as a Christian! Peter would never claim to be the Vicar of Christ, nor would Peter have been embracing ecumenism, or even say everyone is a child of God! The Popes succeed Peter at nothing. The Popes succeed Caiaphas and Diotrephes in almost everything

Even before the Reformation, Roman Catholicism has persecuted the true Christians while masquerading as the true Church founded in 33 A.D. At this point, Rome has entered into more confusion despite it supposedly, one and united. Why do you think that the "Orthodox" churches even sprang out of Rome? Roman Catholics today are divided in several crucial matters. John Paul II had an open dialogue with apostate Protestant groups, including the late Billy Graham. However, some Catholic fanatics (in the Philippines) are still hellbent on trying to use Graham to discredit born again Christianity, even calling it buang (crazy) again. I'm no longer surprised at how Roman Catholics couldn't make up their minds.

Whether Catholic fanatics want to admit it or not, they're heading towards ecumenism. The biggest split between Biblical Christianity and Roman Catholicism is always with the Bible. Roman Catholicism tried to hide the Bible but only for it to be uncovered, several times, even before Martin Luther came along! Luther used an invention, invented by a Roman Catholic named Johannes Gutenburg, to print Bibles for the public to read. Now, Catholicism is trying to say, "All are children of God." and "All religions serve the same God with the Christians." The answer is still wrong. John 14:6 roasts all these claims of ecumenism. It's the most recent fracture today!

As Revelation 17 says the following in the introduction:

Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgement of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the wine of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk.” 3 And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality. 5 And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth's abominations.” 6 And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.

The Great Prostitute of Revelation is a pseudo-church, trying to look like the true Church. However, she has lived deliciously with the world. Although persecution of Roman Catholics is a reality, persecution doesn't always mean one is in the right. Muslims and Hindus persecute each other. Unsaved Jews were persecued. LGBTQ+ groups are also persecuted alongside Catholics and born-again Christians, in Muslim theocracies. Roman Catholicism's consistency in inconsistency is like how a prostitute goes from one man, after the other. A prostitute may also be the mother of children born of several different fathers.

In looking at this, the golden cup full of abominations, is a mockery. Belshazzar used the golden and silver utensils from God's temple to honor idols (Daniel 5). Mixing God's symbolism with idolatry is an abomination. Pagans didn't just copy from one another, they also copied straight from the Bible. The story of Hercules in Greek Mythology, is partly based on Samson. The priests wore a miter and so did pagan priests. The sun god is a counterfeit of the Sun of Righteousness. Should you all wonder at cults claiming to be the one true Church but contradict themselves? Rome is no different than the anti-Catholic cults that go against her. She is a counterfeit, no different from other cults that clash against her, such as the Iglesia Ni Cristo, Mormons, Jehovah's Witness, etc.

The Gospel has been tainted from supposed exclusivity to ecumenism. It's still the same false Gospel that removes assurance, as to keep people under Mystery Babylon's control. However, a voice from Heaven is calling God's people out of Babylon (Revelation 18:4). This is to call a particular people to go out from her, so they wouldn't partake in her plagues. Judgment is sure but God patiently calls for the Elect.
